Public Notice - Bylaw Amendment

Proposed Amendment to By-law 2010-1,
as amended the "Council Procedural By-law"
In accordance with the Public Notice Policy, The Corporation of the City of Kingston hereby gives notice of its intention to amend By-law 2010-1, the Council Procedural By-law as amended, to add a section to the council agenda to permit information reports submitted by members of Council. The amendment would include an addition to section 11.1, a new xvii,
entitled "Information Reports from members of Council," and a description for the new section, as follows;
Information Reports from members of Council
11. 25 Information Reports can be submitted from members of Council, who have been appointed or elect to attend conferences, board or committees meetings at the City's expense, to communicate information to other members of Council and the public. The Clerk shall only list information reports submitted by 12:00 noon on the Tuesday preceding the regular council meeting.
This matter will first be considered at the Administrative Policies Committee on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber, City Hall, 216 Ontario St., Kingston. If approved, the matter will be forwarded to Council, and the proposed by-law shall receive third reading on June 3, 2014. The staff report regarding this matter will form part of the regular Administrative Policies Committee meeting agenda and will be available to the public, the week of April 28 to May 2, 2014.
