The City of Kingston Planning Committee will meet to discuss the matters listed below beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Application for Zoning By-Law Amendment to permit the redevelopment of the property (existing Super 8 motel) The applicant is proposing convert the existing structure with additional expansions to develop a four storey mixed-use commercial and residential building, containing 64 dwelling units.

7 Pine St. – Zane Whitefield –D14-070-2014

Application for Zoning By-Law Amendment to demolish the existing structure to construct a building containing two two-bedroom dwelling units. The applicant is requesting zoning relief from the minimum lot area requirement, front and side yard setbacks, and to request that habitable space be permitted in a cellar.

3893 Highway 15 – Tackaberry & Sons Construction Ltd. – D14-060-2013

Application for Zoning By-Law Amendment to add an asphalt and/or a concrete batching plant as a permitted use within the Extractive Industrial (MX) zone on the subject property.

165,167,169-171 Wellington St. - BPE Development Ltd. - D14-069-2014

Application for Zoning By-Law Amendment to permit the consolidation of the three adjoining properties and a series of building renovation and enlargements which will ultimately support 26 dwelling units and a supply of 639 square metres of commercial floor area. Zoning relief is sought for amenity area, children's play area, off street parking, exemption from angular plane provisions and increased density.

Application for zoning By-Law Amendment to address the non-conforming status of the property that resulted from the recent municipal closure of Morton Street, which was an unimproved public street now renamed as Morton Way.

Application for Zoning By-Law Amendment to legalize two basement units. The applicant is requesting permission to permit the four dwelling units, along with a reduction in the dimensions of a parking space in the rear yard.

Livable City Design Awards

The 2014 City of Kingston Livable City Design Awards are being held to recognize and promote good design in the community. Nominations will be accepted between April 22, 2014 and May 19, 2014 for projects located within the City of Kingston and completed between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2013. All nominations will be reviewed by a professional jury panel, and awards will be presented at a ceremony in the fall of 2014.

Application for Zoning By-Law Amendment to permit a fourth unit with four bedrooms at the rear of the existing building which currently contains 3 units. Amendments to the Zoning By-Law include a reduction in parking aisle width, and reductions in amenity area and play area.
