The City of Kingston Planning Committee will meet to discuss the matters listed below beginning at 6:30 p.m.
1233 Midland Ave. – Kingston Midland & Cataraqui Corp. – D14-074-2014
Application for Zoning By-Law Amendment to rezone the subject property to permit the development of a commercial plaza containing three commercial buildings, one commercial building with a drive-thru, one restaurant with a drivethru, and one gas station.
443 Frontenac St. – Judy Valberg – D14-080-2014
Application for Zoning By-Law Amendment to permit a secondary dwelling unit in the existing building by dividing the front and back of the house. The applicant is requesting permission to rezone the subject property to permit two dwelling units and to reduce the minimum required lot area for two dwelling units.
180 & 182 Bagot St., 111 William St. – Mac Gervan – D14-077-2014
Application for Zoning By-Law Amendment to permit the development of a new two and a half storey single unit dwelling with three bedrooms. The lands are also subject to a consent application to establish a new lot for the proposed dwelling. A second new lot is proposed for the building known as 111 William Street, which is intended to revert to a single unit dwelling with three bedrooms.
752 King St. West - Provincial Campus Secondary Plan –D09-075-2012, D14-272-2012 & D12-075-2012
Applications for Official Plan Amendment, Zoning By-Law Amendment and Draft Plan of Subdivision to re-designate the lands to permit Institutional, Open Space, Low, Medium and High Density Residential, and mixed use commercial/residential development. The proposed draft plan of subdivision includes 3 proposed blocks of land for future development, a block for storm water management, an open space block, a cultural heritage block and three (3) proposed street blocks.

7 Pine St. – Zane Whitfield – D14-070-2014
Application for Zoning By-Law Amendment to demolish the existing four bedroom single family dwelling at 7 Pine St. to construct a building with two two-bedroom residential units. The applicant is requesting permission for the second residential unit, have habitable space in the cellar, to recognize the existing garage as a complying structure, and relief for front yard setback and side yard setback.
735 & 745 Highway 15 – Homestead Land Holdings – D09-001-2013 and D14-002-2013
Applications for Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-Law Amendment to permit two 14-storey apartment buildings, each with 178 dwelling units.
2011 Census and the National Household Survey
This report provides information on the release of Statistics Canada 2011 Census data and the National Household Survey (NHS) data for the City of Kingston and the Kingston Census Metropolitan Area (CMA). This report also highlights the limitations of using the 2011 NHS data, especially with respect to data comparisons with the previous long form census data.
Official Plan Amendment Regarding Casino Gaming Facilities
This is a Comprehensive Report on an Official Plan Amendment (OPA) that is being proposed that will add policies that set out the land use framework regarding the potential development of a casino gaming facility in the City of Kingston. The proposed OPA will provide land use policy guidance for any proponents contemplating locating a casino gaming facility in Kingston. A Public Meeting was held on March 20, 2014 regarding this proposed amendment.
