The City of Kingston Planning Committee will meet to discuss the matters listed below at 6:30 p.m.

Public Meetings

1350-1370 Woodfield Cres. – Creekside Valley Developments – D09-013-2014, D12-008-2013 & D14-035-2013

Applications for Official Plan Amendment, Zoning By-Law Amendment and Draft Plan of Subdivision to develop a subdivision with 330 single detached dwellings and 71 townhouse dwelling units, with parkland, open space, a stormwater management facility and environmental protection areas.

Minimum Separation Distance for Residential Care Facilities – City of Kingston – D09-015-2014

The purpose of this City-initiated application is to remove the policies regarding minimum separation distances for care facilities from the Official Plan in order to implement any new zoning provisions relating to care facilities in the new Comprehensive Zoning By-Law.

Estate Residential Subdivisions – City of Kingston – D09-019-2014

The purpose of this City-initiated application is to examine the current estate residential subdivision policies and make necessary amendments in order to clarify the intent of the Official Plan regarding estate residential development in the rural area.

Commercial Policies of the Rideau Community Secondary Plan (Kingston East) – City of Kingston – D09-021-2014

This is a proposed City-initiated Official Plan Amendment intended to implement the  recommendations of the Commercial Policy Review of the Rideau Community Secondary Plan completed in June 2014 by Sorensen Gravely Lowes Planning Associates Inc. in association with urbanMetrics Inc. The review was undertaken to address a resolution of Council from its meeting of December 3, 2013. The proposed amendment applies to the geographic area of the Rideau Community Secondary Plan (east end Kingston).

Application for Zoning By-Law Amendment to permit the conversion of existing commercial space into three additional residential units within the existing three storey structure.

2011 Census and the National Household Survey

This report provides information on the release of Statistics Canada 2011 Census data and the National Household Survey (NHS) data for the City of Kingston and the Kingston Census Metropolitan Area (CMA). This report also highlights the limitations of using the 2011 NHS data, especially with respect to data comparisons with the previous long form census data.

Information regarding the above can be viewed at the Planning and Development Department, 1211 John Counter Blvd., during normal office hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
