Public Notice - Planning Committee - December 15, 2016

The City of Kingston planning committee will meet to discuss the matters listed below beginning at 6:30 p.m.
700 Gardiners Rd. – Taggart (Gardiners) Corporation – D09-030-2016, D12-022-2016, D14-120-2016
Applications for Official Plan amendment, Zoning Bylaw amendment and Draft Plan of Subdivision to develop a subdivision with a mix of uses including high, medium, and low density residential uses (approximately 1,045 residential units); commercial uses, a school and two public parks. To accommodate proposal the applicant is proposing to amend the Official Plan to locate the property within a ‘Housing District' and to change the designations to ‘Residential'; ‘District Commercial'; and ‘Open Space', and to change the zoning to permit high density residential; medium density residential; low density residential; general shopping-centre uses; institutional uses; and open-space uses.

Application for Zoning Bylaw amendment to construct an approximately 5.0 square metre single-storey front porch addition and an approximately 93 square metre two-and-a-half-storey rear addition. The proposal includes the addition of two dwelling units within the proposed rear addition, each unit to contain three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and kitchen. The existing one-and-a-half-storey dwelling will be internally renovated to include two bedrooms, a bathroom, living room and kitchen. In total, the applicant is proposing three dwelling units with a total of eight bedrooms on the subject property.

1645 Sydenham Rd. and 1456 Aley St. – Anchor Concrete Realty (2001) and Red Rock Enterprises Limited – D35-006-2016
Applications for Official Plan amendment and Zoning Bylaw amendment to expand the existing Anchor Concrete site located at 1645 Sydenham Rd. An Official Plan amendment and Zoning Bylaw amendment are required in order to re-designate and rezone the lands proposed to be added to the site from 1456 Aley St. through a separate Planning Act consent process (City file number: D10-028—2016). The applicant has withdrawn its application to sever the existing Anchor Rebar Facility. The applicant requests that the subject applications for Official Plan amendment and Zoning Bylaw amendment also recognize an existing non-conforming retail use on the site.
