The City of Kingston planning committee will meet to discuss the matters listed below beginning at 6:30 p.m.

213-219 Princess St. – Colborne & Kembel Architects Inc. - D14-045-2016

Application for Zoning Bylaw amendment to permit interior and exterior renovations and the redevelopment of the rear of the existing mixed-use buildings on the property.  Existing rear, wood-frame additions are proposed to be redeveloped within existing building footprints and without exceeding the height of the building fronting onto Princess Street. The proposal will add two (2) residential dwelling units. The commercial use of the ground floor will be maintained as well as the residential use of the upper floors, which now contain six (6) dwelling units. The courtyard at the rear of the buildings on the property will be maintained as part of the proposal, with the addition of covered bicycle parking spaces.

1316 Centennial Dr. – City of Kingston – D14-047-2016

Application for Zoning Bylaw amendment to develop a large scale dairy processing operation on an approximately 18-hectare parcel located within the Cataraqui Estates Business Park.  The subject lands are currently undeveloped. A Zoning Bylaw amendment is proposed to expand the permitted uses to include a research and development facility, increase the maximum permitted height to 44 metres, permit a parking ratio of 0.65 vehicular spaces per 100 square metres of gross floor area and permit both parking and loading spaces in exterior side and front yards.

Official Plan Update – City of Kingston – D09-037-2015

On Nov. 17, 2016 a statutory public meeting was held before the City's planning committee to discuss the fifth draft of the Official Plan, which is being updated as part of a five-year review. Feedback received during and after the meeting is being reviewed by staff in the advancement of a final draft of the Official Plan. The final draft of the plan will be presented, along with a comprehensive report and recommendation, to planning committee on Feb.16, 2017. As requested by the committee, the report will identify all revisions proposed to the fifth draft of the plan so that changes stemming from the Nov.17, 2016 meeting are clear.
