September 15, 2015 –
Have you always wanted to be a lumberjack? Now's your chance! Registration is now open for autumn's biggest challenge event, the Lumberjack Survival Summit.
In celebration of the presentation of Timber! at the Grand Theatre, the MacLachlan Woodworking Museum is hosting its first Lumberjack Survival Summit Oct. 24 to 25.
Participants must be 18 years and older and can register at the Grand Theatre box office or by visiting http://woodworkingmuseum.ca/event/lumberjack-survival-summit/. Discover if you have what it takes to face the extreme conditions and grueling tasks of a Canadian logging camp. Build your own two-day schedule by selecting from over 16 break out workshops taught by experts in their field, designed to hone your skills in the areas of camping, cooking, tools and woodworking, orienteering, emergency medicine and more.
Learn how to brew beer, use a compass, eat bugs, paddle a canoe, start a fire without matches, shave with a straight razor and other skills for your daily urban lumberjack life. All plaids welcome and no experience required!
