null Residents invited to celebrate new parkette
August 10, 2016 -
Shoot hoops on the new basketball net or relax in the park during the grand opening celebration of the Kingston Community Health Centre Parkette on Friday, August 19 from 12-2 p.m.
Located at 263 Weller Ave., the parkette is the result of a successful partnership between the Kingston Community Health Centre and The City of Kingston.
Features of the new parkette include a gathering area with a basketball net, seating, open lawn areas and newly planted trees.
"We are pleased to have worked with the Kingston Community Health Centre on this project. If you live in the neighbourhood, I invite you to join us in celebrating the new park," says Neal Unsworth, manager, parks development.
A community barbeque, sponsored by the Lion's Club and Sunshine Variety, a jumping castle and face painting will be part of the grand opening festivities.
