Rideaucrest’s Spring Volunteer Recruitment Fair is on May 24

May 20, 2014 -

Know someone who would enjoy volunteering to garden, lead tours or work in a coffee shop and boutique?

Rideaucrest Home, the City's long-term care facility, has a variety of volunteer opportunities and is holding its Spring Volunteer Recruitment Fair from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 24 at 175 Rideau St.

"Volunteers share their time, skills and talent with Rideaucrest and it is a generous gift, for which we are sincerely grateful. Our volunteers are exceptional people, with extraordinary hearts who make a difference in the lives of residents, everyday!" says Shiela Thompson, Supervisor Resident Programs and Services.  Staff will be on hand to speak to the benefits of volunteering and what each opportunity involves.

Students: volunteering at Rideaucrest can be used to achieve the mandatory 40 hours of volunteer service required to attain a secondary school diploma (volunteers must be 13 years of age or older).
