Scott Aqua Park Opens June 1
May 22, 2013 -
The City has awarded Scott Environmental Group the naming rights to the City's Outdoor Aquatic Centre.
The City issued a request for proposal for the facility's naming rights and sponsorship this February. Last night Council officially approved the contract, awarding Scott Environmental Group with sponsorship of the facility for $60,000 over five years.
"The Outdoor Aquatic Centre is a great community hub providing residents a public space to do a wide variety of activities", said Mayor Mark Gerretsen. "We are pleased to have Scott Environmental Group making a contribution toward this community asset."
"The Outdoor Aquatic Centre is a wonderful recreation complex used daily all summer long by numerous children, families and seniors. We are very pleased to be associated with this first class facility." says George Scott, owner of Scott Environmental Group.
The newly named Scott Aqua Park, offers a 10-metre water slide, a lazy river, toddler pool, family and accessible change rooms, shaded areas and zero-beach entry. The facility located at the Memorial Centre (303 York St.) opens on weekends June 1 and will be open daily to the public beginning June 24.
