null See selected design concept for Kingston East Community Centre

June 20, 2018 -

East-enders: see how your feedback has been used to create the design for the 20,000 sq. ft. Kingston East Community Centre to be built at Highway 15 and Grenadier Drive. The design is available under "Latest updates" at

"The selected design reflects what we heard from the public consultations on design earlier this year. We're excited about the different program and service opportunities this will create for the City's east end," says Jaclyn Grimmon, manager, recreation programs.

The new community centre has a full-sized gym, walking track, fitness centre, a number of meeting and program spaces, community kitchen and a splash pad.

Program delivery and facility ideas were collected through public engagement and have been incorporated into the selected design concepts. Construction of the new Kingston East Community Centre will begin in early 2019 and it is expected to be completed in 2020.

Community groups are reminded that they can apply to offer programming in the new facility by downloading and submitting the application form from the City's website.
