Sheepdogs Dorey, Feist and Kai herd their way to top dog status at 2019 Kingston Sheep Dog Trials Festival

August 13, 2019 -

With a score of 266, Amanda Milliken's collie Dorey earned first place at the 32nd annual Kingston Sheep Dog Trials Festival presented by Subaru of Kingston.

Feist, owned by Mary Minor of Dayton, NV came in second with 249 points. Kevan Gretton of Woodville, ON and his dog Kai were a close third with 246 points. Full results are available at www.KingstonSheepDogTrials.com.

For the past 12 years, the Kingston Sheep Dog Trials Festival has been a Top 100 Festival and Events Ontario winner. Held at Grass Creek Park, the three-day festival offered event-goers an opportunity to connect with their rural roots with activities such as the Durham Agricultural Exhibit, the Long and McQuade Musical Petting Zoo, spinning and weaving demonstrations and Sunday's Sheep-to-Shawl auction, with proceeds benefitting the festival and regional spinning and weaving guilds. The winning shawl, designed and crafted by the Belleville Weavers and Spinners Guild, was auctioned off for a record $290.

The City of Kingston and the festival organizers wish to thank all vendors, presenting sponsor Subaru of Kingston, participants and attendees for a successful 2019 event.
