Survey to measure satisfaction with waste and diversion services

November 7, 2016 -

The City of Kingston wants to know how satisfied residents are with its waste and waste diversion services. The answers to the waste customer satisfaction survey, available at www.CityofKingston.ca/Waste, will set a baseline for measuring the City's future performance.

"This input will help us focus our efforts to improve service and to reach the goal of diverting 60 per cent of residential waste from landfill by 2018," says Heather Roberts, manager of solid waste. The survey closes on Monday, Nov. 21.

In addition to asking about customer satisfaction with collection and diversion services, the survey also asks about the use of diversion programs, including:

  • this week's battery collection;
  • small-to-medium-item scrap metal collection at the Kingston Area Recycling Centre (KARC), 196 Lappan's Lane;
  • the Household Hazardous Waste facility (open Thursdays and Saturdays at KARC until the end of this month;
  • Giveaway Days;
  • the City's collection reminder app (www.CityofKingston.ca/collection); and
  • the #WasteNotYGK waste-reduction tip Twitter feed.

Find out more about these and the City's other waste and diversion efforts at www.CityofKingston.ca/Waste.
