Tomlinson is the new name of City's outdoor aqua park

March 25, 2015 -

Formerly known as SCOTT Aqua Park, the City of Kingston's outdoor aquatic centre at 303 York St. will now be known as Tomlinson Aqua Park.

The Tomlinson Group acquired the Scott Environmental Group last summer and requested the name change to reflect this change in ownership. The Tomlinson Group will provide new signage that will be put in place ahead of the facility's opening day on Saturday, June 6.

"We are a multi-faceted company providing a diverse array of environmental and construction services – and we are excited to be part of the Kingston community. We are proud to put our name on the Aqua Park and continue the existing sponsorship as a key stakeholder, supporting Kingston to be a premier city in which to live, work and play," says Rose Giugovaz, operations manager for Tomlinson Environmental Services.

The terms of the original 2013 naming rights agreement are otherwise unchanged. The terms of the name change are available in Report COU-15-212, Outdoor Aquatic Centre Naming Rights Amendment, presented to council at its March 24 meeting (find it in the March 24 council meeting agenda at www.CityofKingston.ca/calendar).
