Tour the EOC, meet Sparky on Emergency Preparedness Day

Come for a free tour of the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) on Emergency Preparedness Day – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 12 at Kingston Fire & Rescue Headquarters, 500 O'Connor Dr.
You'll get a behind-the-scenes look at the EOC – the space the City uses to coordinate its actions to respond to emergencies.
There will also be a side-by-side burn demonstration to highlight the benefits of residential sprinklers to protect you and your family should there be a fire in your home.
Learn about safety and emergency preparedness. Meet Sparky and see displays from the City's Emergency Management Services, Kingston Fire & Rescue, Kingston Police, the Canadian Red Cross and many more community partners. Enjoy a barbecue and a chance to win some excellent prizes.

Go to www.CityofKingston.ca/GetReady learn how to get ready for possible emergencies by preparing:
- An emergency plan that you practice with your household.
- A household emergency kit that allows you to shelter-in-place (stay at home) for at least 72 hours.
- Go bags for everyone in your home (including your pets), in case you need to evacuate.
Possible emergencies Kingston residents should be prepared for include utility disruptions, extreme weather, fire, hazardous spills and health emergencies.
