Toys For Tickets Collects 308 Toys

December 13, 2012

This year's Toys for Tickets program has collected 308 toys representing $3,010 in parking fines.

"Participation in the Toys for Tickets program is 100 per cent voluntary and City is pleased to be able to offer residents this alternative way to contribute to the toy drive," says Brandi Timpson, Supervisor Licensing & Enforcement.

Kingston motorists were allowed to pay their parking fines with toys again this year from December 6 to 11.

Last year the program collected toys representing $3,235 in parking fines.

The toys, now under the tree at City Hall's Payment Centre, will be distributed to children over the holidays.
