Toys for Tickets collects 370 toys

December 10, 2018 -

This year's Toys for Tickets campaign collected 370 toys on 300 tickets representing $7,000 in parking fines waived by the City of Kingston.

"Great turnout this year! It was so heartening to see the presents that accumulated under the tree and to know that Kingston residents had taken the trouble to turn a parking ticket into a gift for a local child," says Marissa Mascaro, manager, parking services.

During the campaign, which ran from Nov. 1 to Dec. 7, Kingston motorists had the option to pay their parking tickets with new, unwrapped toys equal to or greater than the amount of the fine.

The toys will be distributed to children over the holidays through a local charity.
