Traffic Report

Taylor Kidd at Centennial - Feb 19 4:30 p.m.
Motorists are advised to avoid the intersection of Taylor Kidd Blvd at Centennial as the traffic lights are currently not functioning.

Construction Delays:

Traffic Delays can be expected on John Counter between Princess St and Sir John A next Tuesday February 23, Wednesday February 24, and Thursday February 25 while crews upgrade the traffic barrier systems.

Princess Street reconstruction

Princess Street is reduced to one lane between Sydenham and Clergy and on-street parking is reduced to one side of the street. Motorists should expect delays while crews complete electrical work.  

Princess Street remains closed:

  • from Bagot to Montreal until April.
  • from Sydenham to Montreal until the end of May.

Motorists should expect delays at  the intersection of Bagot and Princess Streets while crews complete work associated with Princess Street reconstruction project

Businesses on downtown Princess Street remain open and accessible during this project.

Kingston Transit riders: please note that a temporary stop for routes 2, 4 and 18 has been set up on the south side of Queen Street at Montreal Street to accommodate bus detours associated with the Princess Street closure. Rogers K-Rock event road closures

King Street is closed from The Tragically Hip Way to Place D'Armes on Thursday, Feb. 25 from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. for The Next Step Dancers & Star Trek.

Road reconstruction projects

Work to reconstruct the following roadways is underway:

  • Princess Street between Bagot and Clergy
  • Montreal Street between Queen and Brock
  • Sydenham Street between Queen and Princess
  • Clergy Street between Queen and Princess
