Transit service extended on Sundays & holidays

August 29, 2017 -

Kingston Transit will expand Sunday and Holiday service on all express routes and Routes 1, 7 and 15 starting on Sunday, Sept. 10. The extended service on these routes will now match the current Saturday hours of service. The new schedules are now available on the City's website and on Google Maps. Updated schedule information can also be found in the new September 2017 Ride Guide.

"Improving the service on Sundays and Holidays will definitely benefit riders working within the retail and the service industry", says Jeremy DaCosta, general manager, Kingston Transit. "The extended Sunday service was a popular request from our riders during the development of our 2017–2021 Kingston Transit business plan. We want you to know that we heard you, and changes have been made."

The extended service also addresses community requests to provide service to/from fireworks displays on Victoria Day and Canada Day. This change does not include expanding service to operate on Good Friday, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day.

The updated Ride Guide, effective Sept. 5, includes:

  • changes to the 602 Express Route Business Park loop,
  • added information about Park & Ride, and
  • the new layout of the updated Downtown Transfer Point.

Ride Guides are available on most Kingston Transit buses, or at City Hall, the Cataraqui Centre and most Kingston Transit sales outlets.
