Unveiling of Accessible Taxi

Photographers and journalists are invited to attend the unveiling of Kingston's first on-demand accessible taxi

WHEN: 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20

WHERE: In front of City Hall, 216 Ontario St.,  at the taxi stand

WHO: Mayor Mark Gerretsen, Deputy Mayor Sandy Berg, MP Ted Hsu, MPP John Gerretsen, Kingston Area Taxi Commission Chairman John Pyke, Kingston Area Taxi Commission Inspector Dave  Kennedy, Loyalist Township Mayor Bill Lowry and Deputy Mayor Ric Bresee.

WHAT:  Unveiling of the first on-demand accessible taxi, which is supported with funding from the City of Kingston and Loyalist Township. In September, Kingston City Council committed $60,000 in forgiveable loans for three accessible taxis. The first on-demand accessible taxi to go into operation is a 2013 Dodge Caravan.
