Urban K&P Trail construction moves to River Street area

August 10, 2016 -

Construction of the off road Urban K&P Trail will move to segment 4 starting the week of August 15. City of Kingston crews will be working in the area from River Street to Railway/Montreal Streets, and then move northerly to segment 6, Railway Street and Hickson Avenue to the west of Veterans Ball Field (Legion 560).

Work will include clearing and grubbing of vegetation, the removal of garbage and debris, slope stabilization, native tree and shrub planting as well as the construction of the trail itself. In order to provide construction access and to ensure a safe public space, the width of the tree clearing will extend beyond the footprint of the trail.

The asphalt trail will be 3 metres wide.  Way finding signage will be installed at key points along the trail.
