Walk 'n' Roll open house and workshop to offer look at draft active transportation network

The City invites the public to offer input on the draft vision and the draft active transportation network at the Walk ‘n' Roll Kingston public open house and workshop from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7 at Memorial Hall, City Hall, 216 Ontario St.
Walk ‘n' Roll Kingston is the City's master plan to get Kingston on the move – and help reach the City's target of having 20 per cent of all trips being made using some form of active transportation.
"This is about building a city that makes active transportation a top choice for walking, cycling, and wheeling throughout Kingston. We now have a proposed draft network for people to look at and we would like to gather opinions," says Deanna Green, manager, traffic division.
The workshop will consider Walk 'n' Roll Kingston's elements, including:
- The draft vision and policies for promoting active transportation
- The proposed draft network of sidewalks, bicycle facilities, walkways and trails
- The proposed phasing and implementation of specific recommendations and strategies
