North King’s Town public sessions to kick-off second phase of planning

The City is launching the next phase of its work to develop a secondary plan for North King’s Town (NKT) – the Inner Harbour and Old Industrial areas just north of downtown.

There is a lot of interest in the future of this area that has such a rich history and so much potential. We all want the plans for this part of Kingston to realize the community vision that was established during the first phase of this project.

This second phase involves five technical studies: land use, cultural heritage, transportation, servicing and finance and implementation.

We have a lot of ground to cover during this phase and are starting with asking for input on the draft land use plan and preliminary cultural analysis.

Do you have ideas on how our secondary plan can best honour the cultural heritage of this area?

Come learn more and plan to participate at an open house and workshop session set for Wednesday, Feb. 28 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 560 at 734 Montreal St. Choose one of two sessions: 2:30 to 5 p.m. or 6 to 8:30 p.m.

See for a number of other engagement opportunities for Phase 2 of the NKT plan.
