2017 Countryside By-Election

The seat of councillor for District 1 – Countryside for the City of Kingston was declared vacant by council at its meeting held on Dec. 20, 2016. On Feb. 7, 2017, council passed a bylaw to hold a by-election to fill the vacant seat. The by-election to elect a councillor for District 1 – Countryside will be held on May 15, 2017. Following appointment by council, the new councillor will serve from the time he/she takes the Oath of Office, to the end of this term of council (Nov. 30, 2018).
