null City Offers Park and Ride to Scotties Tournament

February 14, 2013 -

The City is offering a couple of options to make it easier for the public to attend the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.  A free park and ride shuttle is being offered at the Memorial Centre during the tournament, which runs February 16 to 24.

Those who take advantage of the free parking at the Memorial Centre can catch a free Kingston Transit shuttle down to the Tournament at the K-Rock Centre.  Plus, those who have Tournament tickets, can show them to ride free on any regular Kingston Transit bus that same day.

"Parking will be limited downtown during the daytime and event parking rates will be in effect after hours, so these options will be attractive for those traveling to the tournament," says Sheila Kidd, Director of Transportation.  Regular parking rates will be in place during the daytime hours.

Here is the shuttle schedule between the Memorial Centre, 303 York St. and the K-Rock Centre, 1 The Tragically Hip Way:

  • From Memorial Centre: The shuttle runs every 30 minutes at the top of the hour or half-past the hour.  Or, catch the shuttle every five minutes starting 45 minutes before all draw start times.
  • From the K-Rock Centre: The shuttle runs every 30 minutes at quarter to/quarter after the hour. Or, catch the shuttle every five minutes after the end of all draws.

Shuttle service starts one hour before the first draw of the day and ends 15 minutes after the end of the final draw of the day.
