null Get inspired at the Kingston Climate Change Symposium
December 11, 2017 -
Sustainable Kingston and the City of Kingston are partnering to host the Kingston Climate Change Symposium at the Grand Theatre on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018.
"This symposium aims to inspire action, showcase the latest developments in community-based climate initiatives, strengthen existing community networks and foster new ones," says Julie Salter-Keane, community projects manager.
The keynote address will be delivered by Canada's first female astronaut, Dr. Roberta Bondar, who will speak about the need for change, social responsibility, and the environment. Guest speakers include David Phillips, senior climatologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada, and Brent Toderian, former Vancouver, B.C. Chief Planner and thought-leader. The event will also serve as a showcase of the exciting and innovative initiatives happening right here in Kingston with a series of local Ted-talk style speakers.
