The City of Kingston is hosting a Candidates' Information Session for all those thinking of running for municipal office or school board trustee in the 2018 Municipal Election on Monday, Oct. 22.

The Candidates' Information Session is 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24 in Council Chamber at City Hall, 216 Ontario St. (Please note that this is not a candidate debate forum.)

This session will offer information to candidates and the public on:

  • the City's governance model (including role of the Mayor and councillors),
  • the role of school board trustee,
  • time commitment, remuneration, orientation, and
  • the municipal election process (including rules and regulations regarding campaign finances).

School board and Ministry of Municipal Affairs representatives will also be available to provide information and answer questions.
