Join us August 11-13, 2017 at the Kingston Sheep Dog Trials Festival, North America’s largest sheep dog trials.


Tickets are available online for $10 until August 10th at or $15 at the gate.


In addition to the trials competition itself, you’ll find a variety of activities and shows for the whole family to participate in!   

  • Enjoy the unique talents of the Ultimutts dogs (and cat) as they perform non-stop jaw dropping tricks during their three daily shows!
  • Take your dog to Bark Camp and work as a team to practice skills such as Stay and Recall, Heel, Leave It and more! After camp, have the opportunity to ask the trainers specific questions about your canine pal.
  • Turn your pet into an agility star at the Dog Lovers Days Canine Lure Course
  • A regular fan favourite, enjoy the Kingston Police k-9 unit demos and meet with the constables and horses of the mounted unit
  • Enter your canine companion in the Dock Dogs Competition and watch them catch some air as they dive into the water or just try it out for fun!
  • If you’re a horse lover, you’ll enjoy the Horsemanship demonstrations with Ron Pyne as he shows off his expertise with his horses Rambler and Ongodoro.
  • Watch your pet strut their stuff at our new pet fashion show, A Black Tail Affair! Please pre-register your pet for this Saturday event by contacting
  • Your kids will enjoy lots of fun activities including a police obstacle course, inflatables, crafts and face painting!
  • Finally, take a stroll through the marketplace and browse the local artisans selling a mix of commercial and hand-crafted items for you and your pet.

Don’t forget to pack your sunscreen and a water bottle to fill up at the Utilities Kingston Water Buggy. New this year, there will be an ATM on site!

Getting there

Parking is available on site or ride the FREE Sheep Dog Shuttle Bus! There are three pick up locations available; Toys R Us, Kingston Memorial Centre and The Marriott Hotel at Kings Crossing.

This event is accessible! On site you will find accessible portable washrooms, an accessible seating area for watching the trials, assistive hearing devices for the trials competition, accessible parking close to the activities (must have accessible parking permit), rides from the parking area to the activity areas and path mats in high traffic areas to assist in navigating the site.
