The final October talk in the KFPL Live monthly speakers’ series is titled Listen Live — Listen Local and will be given by Evan Mitchell, the music director of the Kingston Symphony.

Think classical music is dated or boring?  Think again!  Join Evan Mitchell, music director of the Kingston Symphony, for a look at orchestral music that will shake you up — literally.  Performing pieces on percussion instruments, Evan will also delve into the mysteries of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and share the forces that led him to choose a career in conducting. 

Always keen to enhance the live concert experience with pre-concert talks, informational podcasts and insider videos, Evan Mitchell’s time with the Kingston Symphony has emphasized live onstage insights into major orchestral works, enriching the experience of long-time concert-goers and new audience members.  Catch this rare behind-the-scenes look at music and music-making while you can.

This presentation will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, at the Calvin Park branch.  There is no admission charge.  It is open to all adults and teens, but seating is limited.
