Metered Parking/ Pay & Display

On-street, metered parking is available in many areas within a short distance of the hospital. The maximum length of stay is 3 hours. The cost for metered parking is $1.50 an hour between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. from Monday to Saturday.

Please note: Vehicles may not be parked at meters longer than the maximum time allotted. Even if you have paid for extra time — you must move your vehicle. The set fine for "plugging the meters" is $25. The maximum length of stay posted helps to ensure that more people have the opportunity to use convenient, on-street parking spots. If you require a longer stay, please park your vehicle in a lot or garage.

Cancer Centre Parking

When designated Cancer Clinic parking is unavailable during construction on George Street in July 2014, the City will temporarily relocate some designated Cancer Clinic spaces on the north side of King St. West between the emergency room entrance ramp and Lower University.

Overflow parking for Cancer Clinic patients is still available in the municipal parking lot at the foot of Barrie Street and King St. West, and as a last resort in the ring road in City Park.  In either case, patients still need to purchase a Pay & Display receipt and display it along with the Cancer Clinic permit.

Parking spaces on lower George Street are reserved from Monday to Friday for patients of the Cancer Centre. The cost is $1 per hour or $5 for the day.

Vehicles parked from Monday to Friday in these reserved spaces must have both a valid patient permit and a Pay and Display receipt visible. On Saturdays, only a valid Pay and Display receipt is required.

If you forget your patient permit, a replacement permit can be issued by the clerk at the hospital clinic.

If the George Street spaces are occupied, as an overflow option for Cancer Centre patients only, purchase a Pay and Display ticket on George Street and park in the Waterfront or Richardson Beach lots or the inner gravel road in City Park. You can stay longer than the 3-hour maximum as long as a full day ($5) George Street Pay and Display receipt and patient permit are both visible.
