National Youth Week - Kingston 2017

Friday's Market Madness and Saturday's driving range Youth Week activities have been cancelled due to the weather conditions.

Kingston is celebrating 2017 National Youth Week May 1-7!  Check out the free/low cost activities for 13 to 24 year olds happening across the city. 

Attendees may be required to complete a Registration Form on site and show proof of age (valid ID/Student Card) to receive free or discounted admission.

*Free Arts Workshops  – May 1 to 7

There are free workshops every day from 4 to 7 p.m. during youth week at various venues across Kingston, including: the Tett Centre, 370 King St. West; the Baby Grand Theatre, 218 Princess St.; and 99 York St. For a full schedule and registration information visit www.juvenisfestival.ca/workshops.

Monday, May 1

Open Gym

Location: Artillery Park Aquatic Centre, 382 Bagot St.
Time: 3 to 5 p.m.

*Juvy's Movies Night

Come to a free night of original movies made by Kingston youth at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 1 at The Screening Room, 120 Princess St. (second floor).  For more information please visit www.kingstonyouth.ca .

Tuesday, May 2

Open Gym

Location: Artillery Park Aquatic Centre, 382 Bagot St.
Time: 3 to 5 p.m.

*Youth Arts Council Town Hall Meeting

Attend a Town Hall Meeting to form a youth arts council from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2 at the Kingston Arts Council in the Tett Centre at 370 King St. W. The meeting is open to anyone who wishes to attend. For more information, contact reid@juvenisfestival.ca.

Public Skating

Grand Opening: Shannon Park Skate Park

Celebrate the grand opening of Kingston's newest skate park from 3 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3 in Shannon Park. The new 8,000 square foot skate park at the corner of Daly and MacCauley streets is suitable for skateboarders, BMX bikers, rollerbladers, and scooters.  Opening festivities will feature live music, a community BBQ and skateboarding demonstrations.

Join the Y2K Youth Strategy and Kingston Police to play a free pick-up basketball game in Springer Market Square at this third annual Market Madness event. Bring your water bottle to fill up at the Utilities Kingston water buggy.

Belle Park Driving Range

Time: 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m
Location: 731 Montreal St. 

Note: Driving range access with a free large bucket of balls. A limited number of drivers are also available for use free of charge.

Note: Youth 13-15 years have access to Fitzone equipment: Youth Circuit machines and Wii station, XBOX one and youth recumbent bikes. Youth ages 16-24 will have access to the full fitness centre.
