Automated speed enforcement pilot to conclude Nov. 14
Due to recent provincial legislation that removes municipal authority to operate Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) programs, the City of Kingston will discontinue its ASE pilot program effective Nov. 14, 2025.
On this date:
- ASE cameras currently in place will be deactivated.
- Planned camera rotations to additional community safety zones will not proceed.
- ASE equipment and roadside signage will be removed shortly after.
Speeding infractions recorded before Nov. 14 will still be processed, and vehicle owners remain responsible for paying any fines issued, even if the notice is received after the program ends.
