Mayor and Council New Year’s Celebration

Mayor Paterson and City Council invite you to a New Year’s Celebration in Springer Market Square on Jan. 3, 2026, from 1-3 p.m.

There will be fun-filled events for friends and family including skating (weather-permitting), s’mores, a photobooth and more. No skates? No problem! We will be offering free skate rentals from 1-3 p.m. that day. Rentals will be available in the locker area across from the bathrooms in the basement of City Hall. Horse-drawn wagon rides, courtesy of White’s Rides, will also be returning.

In the spirit of all things new, Kingston Fire & Rescue will be bringing one of their trucks for attendees to tour — a first for the new year’s celebration.

“Whether this is your first time attending, or a family tradition, we look forward to celebrating the new year with you,” said Mayor Paterson while assembling s’mores kits.

This event is hosted in collaboration with Downtown Kingston and open to everyone. Market St. will be closed to accommodate the firetruck and wagon rides.
