Notice of Public Open House and Virtual Presentation and Q&A
The Study
The City of Kingston is developing an Integrated Mobility Plan – the new long-term transportation plan for Kingston. The Integrated Mobility Plan and the City’s new Official Plan are being developed concurrently, ensuring that Kingston’s land use and transportation systems are planned together to support a growing, connected and sustainable city.
The Integrated Mobility Plan will identify infrastructure needs and policy directions for Kingston’s active transportation networks, frequent transit corridors, and roads through to the year 2051. Together with the new Official Plan, the Integrated Mobility Plan will guide how the City invests in its transportation system to accommodate projected population and employment growth, while ensuring the network is safe, equitable, efficient, and provides reliable options for people of all ages and abilities.
The Process
The Integrated Mobility Plan is being conducted in accordance with the requirements of Phases 1 (Identify Problem and Opportunity) and 2 (Identify and Evaluate Alternative Solutions) of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process under the Master Planning process using Approach #1.
Purpose of the Public Open House and Virtual Presentation
The purpose of this Public Open House and Virtual Presentation is to present and receive input on the existing conditions, emerging directions, alternative solutions, and evaluation process for the Integrated Mobility Plan.
At the in-person Open House, attendees may drop in at any time to view materials, share feedback through interactive displays, and discuss ideas directly with the Project Team. At the Virtual Presentation, a presentation will be followed by a Q&A session, where questions can be submitted into the Q&A and will be addressed by the Project Team.
We Want to Hear from You
Engaging with the Kingston community is essential to this plan. The Integrated Mobility Plan is being developed in parallel with the City’s new Official Plan, creating a coordinated approach to planning for growth and mobility. Together, these plans will ensure that new communities, growth areas, and transportation investments are aligned.
Public feedback will continue to inform the development of both plans throughout 2025 and 2026. Additional opportunities to get involved, view materials, and share feedback will be available through the project webpage at Get Involved Kingston.
