Recipients of the Rural Community Development Fund set to bring fun programs and events to rural Kingston
The City of Kingston is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Rural Community Program Fund, supporting vibrant community events and programs that celebrate rural life and culture. Each of the following initiatives will receive up to $5,000 to enhance their programming:
- Fall Pumpkin Smashing Event
- Sounds of the Pines
- Grass Creek Disc Golf Course
- Honeybee Festival
- Drawn to Nature – Rural Art Party
“These events and programs are more than just gatherings—they’re a celebration of rural identity and community pride," said Tracey Snow, Manager, Rural Economic and Community Development, City of Kingston. “They showcase the creativity and dedication of our rural residents, while also providing meaningful opportunities for people of all ages to come together and celebrate what makes rural Kingston special.”
To celebrate the recipients and the impact of rural programming, a celebration event will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 29 at the Glenburnie Fire Hall Community Centre. Community members are invited to attend and learn more about the funded events and the people behind them.
The City extends its sincere thanks to the Rural Advisory Committee for their continued support and guidance in shaping the Rural Community Program Fund and ensuring it meets the needs of Kingston’s rural residents.
