The Kingston Sheep Dog Trials Festival returns to Grass Creek Park August 8-10

The annual Kingston Sheep Dog Trials Festival promises a roundup of family- and pet-friendly fun on the weekend of Aug. 8-10 at Grass Creek Park. Celebrating its 38th year, the festival is organized by the Kingston Sheep Dog Trials volunteers, with support from the City of Kingston.

This year’s festival features the Canadian Border Collie Association National Championships and includes the competitive sport of trialing (dogs, usually Border Collies, competing to herd sheep through obstacle courses), as well as sheering, spinning and weaving demonstrations, agility shows and a vendor village.

“Kingston’s Sheep Dog Trials brings the community into the world of working dogs and sheep, and we invite everyone to join us at this special event, to learn about and experience the competitive and exciting sport of trialing,” says Amanda Milliken, Kingston Sheep Dog Trials Board of Directors.

Thanks to the William James Henderson Foundation for its generous support of this event.
