Toys for Tickets raises $6,000 in toys for children in need
City Bylaw Enforcement staff are sharing their gratitude to the community members who donated a toy in lieu of an eligible parking ticket in this year’s Toys for Tickets campaign, which ran from Nov. 1 to Dec. 3.
From bulldozers and boats to dolls and games, a final tally of 249 new toys worth $6040 were collected this week and donated to the Salvation Army’s Toy Mountain campaign, which distributes toys to children in need during the holiday season.
“This year’s Toys for Tickets collection is a testament to Kingston’s incredible community spirit and commitment to giving back,” said Dan Hazell, Supervisor, Enforcement Services, City of Kingston. “Thank you to everyone who participated, your generosity and kindness made a huge impact this year.”
Toys for Tickets 2025 nearly doubled its toy donations over last year, bringing the total number of toys donated since it started in 2005 to well over 4,000.
