Vote for Kingston’s Official City Bird!
Eggciting news: The City of Kingston is inviting you to help choose a bird to represent our community!
Kingston is home to a wide variety of birds that play an important part in our ecosystems. The City is applying to become a certified Bird-Friendly City in 2025 and we’re launching a public campaign to choose an official City Bird. We're asking community members to share their thoughts on which bird best represents Kingston! HOO will fly away with the title?
A list of 15 locally found bird species has been selected by the Bird-Friendly City team, which includes representatives from the City, local community groups and environmental organizations. The short-listed birds are native species and commonly found in the wild in various parts of the city. You’re invited to tell us which bird you think should win!
Be an early bird and sparrow minute to share your feedback starting Sept. 11 on Get Involved Kingston. On Oct. 11, to coincide with World Migratory Bird Day, we will announce which lucky duck – or dove, or hawk, or owl – has been chosen as Kingston’s official City Bird!
