Centre 70 Arena closed until further notice due to water damage
On the evening of Monday, Jan. 26, crews from Kingston Fire and Rescue, Recreation and Leisure Services, and Facilities Management and Construction Services responded to a burst pipe inside Centre 70 Arena.
The burst pipe caused significant water damage to several areas inside the building, including the ice plant and refrigeration systems needed to create ice for the rink. Due to the extent of the damage and timeline for repairs, the building will remain closed for the remainder of the ice season and until further notice.
We understand this closure has a significant impact on the partner and community groups that use Centre 70 Arena for a variety of programs and activities, including tournaments and events. City staff are reaching out to user groups and those with active bookings to arrange alternative ice time where possible, based on the Ice Allocation Policy.
If you would like to contact us about an upcoming booking at Centre 70 Arena, please contact Facility Booking at 613-546-4291 ext.1804 or by emailing facilitybooking@cityofkingston.ca.
