Get ready to lace up your skates: Centre 70 Arena set to reopen October 17

The City of Kingston is pleased to welcome back residents to Centre 70 Arena on Saturday, October 17 for skating and other recreation opportunities.

The arena has been closed since the winter while crews completed the necessary repairs and work to restore the ice-making equipment, following water damage from a burst pipe sustained in January.

“We appreciate the community’s patience while we worked to reopen Centre 70 Arena,” says Amy Elgersma, Director, Recreation and Leisure Services. “This arena provides residents with important opportunities to be active and connect with others. We are excited to welcome everyone back.”

The return of skating at Centre 70 also marks the return of activity at the UFIT Rink, made possible in part through the ongoing support of naming rights partner UFIT. The City appreciates UFIT’s investment in Centre 70 and its support of opportunities for residents of all ages to participate in sport and recreation.

Centre 70 Arena is located at 100 Days Rd., Kingston. Residents are encouraged to view updated program schedules, including public skating opportunities, through the City's recreation registration system and website beginning Oct. 17.

The City of Kingston acknowledges that we are on the traditional homeland of the Anishinabek, Haudenosaunee, and the Huron-Wendat, and thanks these nations for their care and stewardship over this shared land.
