Kingston Climate Summit announces astronaut Dr. Dave Williams as 2026 keynote speaker

The City of Kingston, ICLEI Canada and Sustainable Kingston are proud to announce that Dr. Dave Williams, a renowned astronaut, physician and entrepreneur, will be the keynote speaker for the 2026 Kingston Climate Summit, taking place June 3 and 4 at St. Lawrence College. 

Dr. Williams’ keynote, Space on Earth – A Sustainable Future, connects the problem-solving mindset of space exploration to the challenge of climate change, inspiring audiences to think bigger about what’s possible.  

The keynote will take place from 6 – 7:30 p.m. on June 3. The City is offering a limited number of free admission tickets to those who cannot attend the summit, available on a first-come, first served basis. Climate Summit delegates who register for the keynote will receive priority seating. Registration for this event is required.

Internationally recognized for pushing the boundaries of human achievement in space, underwater and in healthcare, Dr. Williams brings a compelling perspective to the urgent challenges of climate action, resilience and sustainability. His career includes serving as a NASA astronaut, aquanaut and emergency physician, as well as leading innovation in healthcare and human performance in extreme environments.

The Kingston Climate Summit will welcome municipal leaders, professionals, educators, students, community organizations and residents, recognizing that meaningful climate solutions require cross-sector collaboration and shared responsibility.

Registration for the 2026 Kingston Climate Summit is now open and interested participants are encouraged to secure their spot early as space is limited
