Labour Day Weekend: closures, service impacts, and more!
Learn how the Labour Day weekend will impact services, programs and facility hours on Monday, Sept. 7 for the City of Kingston, Utilities Kingston and other community organizations.
Scheduling impacts:
- Garbage and green bin: There is no collection on Sept. 7. Collection occurs the day after your regular collection day. Sign-up to receive collection reminders by phone, push notification, or email – or get the FREE “Kingston Waste” app on your Apple or Android device.
- Kingston Disposal Site (189 Lappan's Lane): Closed.
- Kingston Transit: A Sunday schedule will be in effect.
- Kingston Access Bus Services: Limited on-road service will be available. The trip reservation office will be open from 7:30am to 11:30am. Please call 613-542-2512 for additional information or check their Facebook page.
- Administrative Offices (including Housing and Social Services and Provincial Offences Court on Montreal Street): Closed.
- Utilities Kingston and Kingston Hydro: Closed. Customers experiencing a utility emergency such as a gas leak, power outage, or water main break, please call the 24-hour emergency line at 613-546-1181. - Recreation Facilities:
- INVISTA Centre/Arenas: Closed
- Artillery Park Aquatic Centre: Closed
- Rideau Heights Community Centre: Closed
- Kingston East Community Centre: Closed
- Kingston Frontenac Public Library: All library branches are closed. Services and digital collections can be accessed online. Don’t have a library card? Register online.
- Portsmouth Olympic Harbour: Open.
- Confederation Basin Marina Office and Laundry Facilities: Open 7:30am-3:30pm
- Kingston Grand Theatre: Closed.
- PumpHouse Museum: Closed.
- City Hall Tours and Market Wing Cultural Space: Closed.
- Tett Centre for Creativity & Learning: Closed.
