Notice of Public Open House: City of Kingston Integrated Mobility Plan

The Study

The City of Kingston is developing an Integrated Mobility Plan – the new long-term transportation plan for Kingston. The Integrated Mobility Plan and the City’s new Official Plan are being developed concurrently, ensuring that Kingston’s land use and transportation systems are planned together to support a growing, connected, and sustainable city.

The Integrated Mobility Plan will identify infrastructure needs and policy directions for Kingston’s street network, frequent transit corridors, and active transportation networks through to 2051. Together with the new Official Plan, the Integrated Mobility Plan will guide how the City invests in its transportation system to accommodate projected population and employment growth, while ensuring the network is safe, equitable, efficient, and provides reliable options for people of all ages and abilities.

The Process

The Integrated Mobility Plan is being conducted in accordance with the requirements of Phases 1 (Identify Problem and Opportunity) and 2 (Identify and Evaluate Alternative Solutions) of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process under the Master Planning process using Approach #1.

Purpose of the Public Open House

Come share your thoughts on the draft transportation networks for the Integrated Mobility Plan. The draft networks illustrate how Kingston’s streets could function in the future, including routes for frequent and reliable transit, facilities that support comfortable walking, rolling, and cycling, and key supporting policies.

Drop-in to explore interactive displays, speak with the project team, and share your feedback. Your input will help inform key transportation inputs to the draft Official Plan, as well as the next stages of the Integrated Mobility Plan as the networks are refined and implementation planning advances.

We Want to Hear from You

Engaging with the Kingston community is integral to this plan. The Integrated Mobility Plan is closely integrated with the City’s development of a new Official Plan, creating a coordinated approach to planning for growth and mobility. Together, these plans will ensure that new communities, growth areas, and transportation investments are aligned.

Additional opportunities to get involved, view materials, and share feedback will be available through the project webpage at Get Involved Kingston.
