Permanent noise exemption: The Belvedere Hotel

The City of Kingston has received a request from The Belvedere Hotel, for a permanent noise exemption.

Date: Permanent noise exemption
Time: 12-7 p.m.
Location: 141 King St. E
Nature of noise/request: The Belvedere Hotel is seeking a permanent noise exemption between the hours of 12-7 p.m., a mix of weekday and weekend. Two days a week. Likely Wednesdays 4:30-7:30 p.m. and Sundays 2-5 p.m. The request is for acoustic guitar playing with singing and a small amplifier. The Belvedere Hotel would also like the public to know that they will notify their neighbours in advance of their events, and they will provide contact information for their manager on site during their events so neighbours can reach out directly with questions or concerns.

Please note that since this is a permanent noise exemption, a report will be taken to City Council on Oct. 2, 2026, for their consideration. Your feedback will be a part of that report with names redacted.

We invite the public to submit any comments or concerns regarding this noise exemption request. Please direct feedback to Steve Mothersell, Manager, Enforcement Services (SMothersell@CityofKingston.ca), by Aug. 31, 2026 at 4 p.m.
