Recognizing well-designed places: Nominations now open for Livable City Design Awards
Know of a new building, development, or public space that improves the quality of life in Kingston? Nominate it for a 2026 Livable City Design Award!
Held every three years, the City of Kingston’s Livable City Design Awards recognize buildings or landscape elements that demonstrate excellence in urban design or architecture and have positively contributed to Kingston’s public spaces.
“Whether it’s a new housing or mixed-use development, a heritage conservation project, a new park space or anything in between, we want to know what projects have resonated with the public and made a positive impact on the livability of Kingston over the last three years,” said Sukriti Agarwal, Manager of Policy Planning at the City of Kingston. “A livable city is one that is designed for all residents to move around easily, connect with one another, and enjoy.”
Anyone can nominate a public or private project that has been completed between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2025. Complete eligibility criteria is available on the City’s website.
Nominations must be received by 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 30. All entries that meet the criteria will be judged over the summer by a panel of experts. There will also be public voting in the fall to select a People’s Choice Award winner. All awards will be presented at a ceremony later in the year.
