Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign is now underway
The volunteers of The Inclusive Play Project (IPP) are excited to share that Smile Cookies are now on sale! From April 27 to May 3, participating Tim Hortons restaurants across Kingston will donate 100 per cent of proceeds from Smile Cookie sales to the Jumpstart Inclusive Playground — a community-driven initiative, led by IPP volunteers, focused on creating a playground where children of all abilities can play, connect and belong. Each Smile Cookie is $2. There are also Smile Cookie plushies available for $5 each, of which net proceeds are donated. You can also donate any amount at any Tim Hortons in Kingston during the week.
“Supporting The Inclusive Play Project is incredibly meaningful to us,” says Sherri Agnew, Tim Hortons restaurant owner. “The Smile Cookie campaign allows us to give back in a way that truly matters. An inclusive play space brings people of all abilities together, fostering joy, belonging, and a sense of community for everyone.”
Funds raised through the Smile Cookie campaign will help the Jumpstart Inclusive Playground fundraising go directly toward building a play space that will offer engaging opportunities tailored to a wide range of physical abilities and sensory needs. The construction budget for the Jumpstart Inclusive Playground is $1.5 million, and fundraising is currently at 92 per cent of the goal. Thanks to the generous commitment of Tim Hortons Kingston, IPP volunteers hope to sell enough Smile Cookies this week to reach the final fundraising goal.
“We’re deeply grateful to Tim Hortons and our local restaurant owners for their support,” said Rachel Doornekamp, Inclusive Play Project Founder. “It’s amazing how something as simple as a cookie can help build a place where every child feels welcome, valued and able to play.”
