LaSalle Causeway
Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) wishes to advise the public that the LaSalle Causeway will be fully closed to vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians to allow for the temporary opening of the main marine navigation channel during the following periods:
Summer
Dates:
- June 8, 15, 22, 29
- July 1, 6, 13, 20, 27
- Aug. 3, 10, 17, 24, 31
- Sept. 7
- Time: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Fall
Dates:
- Sept. 21
- Oct. 5, 14, 19
- Nov. 2, 16
- Time: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Road Closures
- Albert Street – Princess to Mack – closed to accommodate construction activity and staging at 484 Albert St.
- Aberdeen Street - William to Johnson – closed to accommodate construction activity and staging.
- Barrie Street – Queen to Colborne – closed for construction related activity at 283 Queen St.
- Cassidy Street – Montreal to Maple – closed until July 4 as part of the ongoing intersection improvements of Montreal and John Counter.
- Division Street – Railway to Concession – closed June 20 and 23 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day to accommodate a new service installation.
- Earl Street – Collingwood to Toronto – closed for sewer separation and road rehabilitation work.
- Hitchcock Road – at CN Rail Crossing – closed beginning June 15 at 7 a.m. to June 19 at 7 p.m. for a full crossing rehab.
- King Street – The Tragically Hip Way to Place D’Armes – closed June 23 to 27 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day for Queen’s Convocation at Slush Puppie Place.
- Ordnance Street – Clergy to Sydenham – closed June 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m for the Kingston Skelton Park Arts Festival.
- Ontario Street – Brock to Clarence – closed June 21 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the City of Kingston National Indigenous People’s Day event.
- Patrick Street – Raglan to Balaclava – closed June 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for the Kingston Skelton Park Arts Festival.
- Princess Street – Barrie to Ontario – closed June 21 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the Princess Street Promenade. Please note the intersections of Princess St and Barrie St and Princess St and Bagot St will remain open throughout the event.
- South Bartlett Street – Smith to Victoria - closed until Aug. 29 for construction related activity at 655 Princess St.
- Sydenham Street – Princess to Queen – closed until Oct. 3 for the Sydenham Street Community Space.
- Victoria Street - Union St to Johnson St – closed for sewer separation and road rehabilitation work.
- Victoria Street – Princess to North Bartlett – closed until Aug. 29 for construction related activity at 655 Princess St.
Kingston Kids Triathlon
Please note that the following streets will be closed on June 21 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for the Kingston Kids Triathlon:
- Concession Street from Alfred to Nelson
- Alfred Street from Concession to York
- York Street from Nelson to Alfred
- Nelson Street from Concession to York
Parking Disruption
The Hanson Memorial Parking Structure Restoration project is now underway. The work will take place throughout all levels of the building, and will include efforts such as routine structural maintenance, repainting, replacement of waterproofing materials, and upgrades to the building mechanical/electrical systems. The work is planned to conclude in August 2025. At all times during construction efforts are being made to ensure approximately 200 spaces remain available for parkers.
Other Delays
- Accommodation Road – 6th Concession to White Church – expect delays while the contractor is completing work on the Annual Surface Treatment contract.
- Abbey Dawn Road – Middle to Hwy 2 - expect delays while the contractor is completing work on the Annual Surface Treatment contract.
- Bayridge Drive – Milford to Henderson – expect delays for the construction of new active transportation infrastructure and intersection upgrades.
- Cataraqui Woods Drive – Centennial to Gardiners – expect delays for the construction of new Multi-Use Pathway.
- Collins Bay Road – Woodbine to Princess – expect delays while a contractor completes landscaping work on Collins Bay Road.
- Florida Road – Henderson to Wilton - expect delays while the contractor is completing work on the Annual Surface Treatment contract.
- Front Road – Sand Bay to Country Club – expect delays for the installation of Sanitary and Water main for Utilities Kingston. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Please be aware of lane shifts, traffic speed limits, and share the lane signage.
- Gardiners Road – at Centennial/Creekford - expect delays beginning Apr. 7 while a contractor completes intersection widening, traffic signal upgrades and cycling and pedestrian improvements.
- Garrett Road – 6th Concession to Sandhill - expect delays while the contractor is completing work on the Annual Surface Treatment contract.
- Highway 2 – Abbey Dawn to St. Lawrence – expect delays to complete enhanced flood protection of Abbey Dawn Road, Highway 2, and St. Lawrence Avenue.
- Highway 15 – Kingston Mills to Middle – expect delays for a contractor to complete work on the Hwy 15 CNR overhead structure.
- Montreal Street – at John Counter - expect delays for upgrades to the intersection including new lighting, traffic signals, lanes, paving and signage to improve safety and efficiency for all road users and accommodate increased traffic from the Waaban Crossing.
- Victoria Street and Earl Street - expect delays while a contractor mobilizes to site to start work on the second phase of reconstruction of sewer, watermain, sidewalks and road.
- White Church Road – 6th Concession to Woodburn - expect delays while the contractor is completing work on the Annual Surface Treatment contract.
