Great Lakes Coastal Cleanup

Kingston is joining five other Ontario communities for the first-ever Great Lakes Coastal Cleanup! Led by the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative. Every piece of litter we remove will help restore vital habitats, protect wildlife and ensure safe, swimmable and drinkable water.

Together, let’s roll up our sleeves and contribute to cleaner, healthier Great Lakes for generations to come. This project is made possible by the Government of Ontario’s Great Lakes Local Action Fund.

When and where

Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025, at Richardson Beach (Emily St.) from 9:30 a.m. to noon. All supplies will be provided for the cleanup. Sign up to volunteer!

The City of Kingston acknowledges that we are on the traditional homeland of the Anishinabek, Haudenosaunee, and the Huron-Wendat, and thanks these nations for their care and stewardship over this shared land.

Today, the City is committed to working with Indigenous peoples and all residents to pursue a united path of reconciliation.
