Celebrating the places that shape Kingston: Livable City Design Awards nomination period extended to July 17

The City of Kingston is giving residents more time to recognize outstanding design in the community by extending the nomination deadline for the 2026 Livable City Design Awards to July 17.

Held every three years, the Livable City Design Awards celebrate buildings, developments, public spaces and landscape elements that demonstrate excellence in urban design or architecture while enhancing Kingston’s quality of life.

“Kingston is home to many innovative projects that contribute to vibrant, inclusive and attractive neighbourhoods,” said Sukriti Agarwal, Manager of Policy Planning at the City of Kingston. “Extending the nomination deadline gives residents, businesses and community organizations additional time to help recognize the projects that make our city a better place to live, work and play.”

The City is encouraging residents to nominate public or private projects completed between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2025. Anyone can submit a nomination. Complete eligibility criteria and nomination information are available on the City’s website.
