City of Kingston seeks voting location workers for 2026 municipal election

The Municipal Election is happening this October and we’re seeking community members to work at voting locations on Oct.16 and 17 (9 a.m. – 7 p.m.) and Oct. 26  (9 a.m. – 9 p.m.).

Interested applicants with customer service and computer skills are strongly encouraged to apply. Election workers must be legally entitled to work in Canada. No previous election experience is required, however previous municipal election experience is helpful. The following positions need to be filled:

  • Deputy Returning Officers

  • Machine Operators

  • Greeters/Demonstrators

Successful applicants will be placed at various voting locations across the City. Positions pay between $220-$249 (dependent on role). All workers are required to complete an in-person training session between September 28 and October 15, held at City Hall.
